On June 26-30, 2006, the Center for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF)
and the Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER Bocconi) hold their joint CSEF-IGIER Symposium on Economics and Institutions. The
conference structure reflected the intention of leaving time for free, informal
discussion. Seminars took place in the mornings in three parallel sessions.
Afternoons were reserved for more informal workshops and collaborative work.
The conference program included papers in the following areas:
(1)
Industrial organization;
(2) Finance;
(3) Household
behavior and public policy.
There were five invited lectures given by leading international scholars:
Erik Maskin (Harvard
University); Hayne Leland (University of California Berkeley); Dilip Mookherjee
(Boston University); Richard Disney (University of Nottingham); Steve Zeldes
(Columbia University); Patrick Rey (Università di
Tolosa).
The conference venue was Villa Orlandi
(http://www.villaorlandi.unina.it),
a
seventeenth century villa on the island of Capri at a short distance from
Anacapri.
